Women’s Circles
If you’ve never sat in a women’s circle, you may wonder what all the fuss is about. Allow me to paint a picture for you…
Women’s circles have been a part of human culture for centuries, bringing women together to share from their hearts, support and empower each other. They are sacred spaces where women connect deeply with each other, share experiences, and find strength and encouragement.
A women’s circle is typically a gathering of women who come together with a common intention, such as personal growth, spiritual development, or healing. Circles can take many forms, from informal gatherings among friends to more structured events led by trained facilitators. Women’s circles can be held in person or online, and they can vary in size from just a few women to dozens or even hundreds. Sacred Woman Collective circles are intentionally intimate so we can get to know one another on a deeper level.
The purpose of a circle is to create a safe and supportive environment where women can connect with each other, where they can share their stories, experiences, and challenges without fear of judgment or shame. This sense of community and connection can be incredibly powerful, helping women to feel less alone and more empowered. Let me tell you, I have witnessed deep connections where people say they showed up like strangers but left like sisters!
Women’s circles can also be a place for personal growth and transformation. Through sharing and listening to others’ stories, women can gain new insights and perspectives on their own lives. Women’s circles often incorporate activities such as meditation, journaling, and group discussions to help participants explore their inner selves and deepen their understanding of themselves. Sacred Woman Collective uses a form of communication in circle called Council where we pass a talking stick. This allows the person with the stick to heard without interruption which can be a profound experience.
In addition to personal growth, women’s circles can also be a place of healing. Many women come to circles seeking healing from trauma, grief, or other emotional wounds. In these circles, women can find support, compassion, and understanding from others who have gone through similar experiences. Women’s circles can be a powerful tool for healing, helping women to move past their pain and find strength and resilience. If there’s anything we learn in circle, it’s of our sameness.
One of the most important aspects of women’s circles is the sense of sisterhood and community they create. Women’s circles provide a space where women can come together to celebrate their strengths, support each other, and build deep connections. A place to find a sense of belonging and connection that is often missing in our individualistic society.
Women’s circles are a powerful tool for personal growth, healing, and community-building. They provide a safe and supportive environment so whether you are looking for personal growth, healing, or simply a sense of community, a women’s circle can be an incredible resource. We hope you’ll join us.
